COVID-19 Vaccinations & Boosters
Booster Vaccines
Poplar Grove Practice was delighted to be supporting the GP Led Booster Programme at Stoke Mandeville Stadium which ran from 8th October 2021 until 29th January 2022. The GP-Led Hub has now finished and we are recommending any patients who are yet to receive their booster to visit the following links;
Please do not call the practice as we do not have access to vaccines or appointments, if you have any queries please contact 119.
First and Second Vaccines
After 6 successful months of providing over 60,000 COVID-19 vaccines our GP Led vaccination clinic has now finished.
Vaccination Certificates/Passports
We are unable to provide certificates at the practice regarding your vaccination status, please see https://www.gov.uk/guidance/demonstrating-your-covid-19-vaccination-status-when-travelling-abroad for further information.
Proof of your vaccination status will be available on Patient Access or the NHS app.
The NHS app can be downloaded from:
https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/nhs-app/id1388411277 - for iPhone/iOS
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nhs.online.nhsonline - for Android
If you have not used this before, there is a self-registration process within the app to create an "NHS login" as per https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/online-services/nhs-log-in/
If you already have access/login details for patient online services, for example "Patient Access", you may use this.
Alternatively you can call the NHS helpline on 119 and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you've completed your course of the vaccine. The letter may take another 5 days to reach you, or more if postal services are affected. Please take account of this when making your plans.
COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment Queries
We can no longer assist with any further questions or queries regarding COVID-19 vaccination appointments. These can ONLY be booked by calling 119 or online at the below link
https://www.nhs.uk/.../coro.../book-coronavirus-vaccination/
We are aware that 119 may direct you back to your GP practice for help however we have no access to any further vaccine supplies or appointments at other sites so unfortunately we will not be able to help. You will need to use the national booking line 119 or go on-line for further help.
COVID-19 Vaccination Aftercare Queries
If you have a query concerning a vaccine that was given at the Stoke Mandeville Site by the GP led team from 15th January 2021 to 19th June 2021, please email the details to sms.vaccinations@nhs.net & a member of our admin team will be in touch. However do note there are some common side effects with the vaccines which can last no more than a week, these include;
- having a painful, heavy feeling and tenderness in the arm where you had your injection. This tends to be worst around 1-2 days after the vaccine
- feeling tired
- headache
- general aches, or mild flu like symptoms
Have you had your COVID-19 vaccination outside of the UK?
For those patients who were vaccinated outside of the UK, it is likely that your vaccinations will not be recorded on your NHS app meaning and you won't be able to generate a COVID-19 pass.
Those who require proof of their vaccination status, will need to book an appointment with the NHS (not the practice) to have their vaccination status verified. You can book your appointment here.
