Poplar Grove has a strong administrative team
12 receptionists, 8 secretaries and 3 summary clerks.
Between them they provide full administrative support to the whole Primary Health Care Team.
Our secretaries help us communicate with hospitals, other doctors and many other agencies on your behalf.
They have a varied role and are key players in the smooth running of the practice. Their administrative tasks vary from typing hospital referrals, booking hospital transport, chasing up test results etc. If you have any queries about letters your doctor may have written, e.g. to hospitals, insurance companies, etc, please speak to one of our secretaries.

Our team of receptionists are your link with the rest of the practice and are there to help you. They may need to ask you some medical details to help the rest of the team to work effectively. They work under the doctors' instructions. The clearer you can explain your problem, the better we can help. Any information you give to our team remains confidential. Our receptionists are trained to do a difficult job and they try very hard to do it well.
If you require privacy at reception please ask the receptionist who will deal with your request in a private area.
Please remember that the patient self-check in screen will save you time queuing at the desk. This system will check you in for your appointment and let the doctor or nurse know that you are waiting. It saves congestion at the reception desk.
The summary clerks extract all information from paper records and enters it into the electronic clinical record to ensure that all members of the team have a full, up to date clinical record accessible via the computer system.
They also help the doctors complete insurance and private medical reports.
